Abstract

In the tourism sector worldwide, one of the current trends is to use Blockchain technology as part of the new digital innovations capable of complementing it. This is due to the facilities it offers, for example: Smart Contracts, secure transactions, decentralization of processes, among others. Consequently, the use of Blockchain has brought positive results in tourist accommodation. However, despite the fact that the Central Bank of Cuba issued a resolution to authorize the use of virtual assets in commercial transactions, Cuba does not use this technology in its hotel facilities. The Mirador de San Diego Hotel, despite being immersed in other trends, does not have the innovative technological support to complement them. In response, the present research proposes as a general objective: A Blockchain diagnosis at the Mirador de San Diego hotel to enable the design of an action plan for the introduction of the technology. Theoretical, empirical and statistical-mathematical methods were used to design an action plan to reduce weaknesses and take advantage of the opportunities offered by the use of blockchain. Finally, the following conclusions were reached: existing research related to blockchain is scarce in hotels in Cuba and blockchain technology is one of the most innovative current trends in tourism entities.
