Disability and its influence on children

Abstract
Introduction: Disability in children affects their physical, mental, sensory, and emotional development, limiting their ability to engage in age-appropriate activities. It can be temporary or permanent and is classified into different types such as physical, intellectual, or sensory. These limitations affect their learning, socialization, and autonomy, creating disadvantages such as motor difficulties, cognitive barriers, and social exclusion. Additionally, they face discrimination and a higher risk of violence. It is important to foster empathy, inclusion, and guarantee their rights so that they grow up in a safe and non-discriminatory environment. Objective: To analyze the influence of various disabilities on children and their environments, from their learning to their social interactions. Methodology: The research was based on a bibliographic methodology, with a qualitative and exploratory approach, reviewing various scientific sources to understand the multiple dimensions of childhood disability. Results: It was observed that disability can influence in various ways, from learning to social and emotional development, creating barriers that children face both in school and in their daily lives. Conclusion: The impact of disability on children is profound and multifaceted, highlighting the importance of promoting an inclusive environment that removes barriers, fosters their self-esteem, and allows them to develop their full potential on equal terms.
