Background: Background: Mange in canines worldwide is one of the most representative veterinary public health problems as it is a dermatological condition that not only affects the health of our faithful four-legged companions, but also raises significant concerns. Methods: the method used was documentary, bibliographic from the scielo, latindex, and scopus databases. Results: Regular administration of medications is essential for disease control. have highlighted the importance of this aspect. However, the complexity and need for daily doses of medications like ivermectin can pose challenges for owners. Conclusion: Demodex canis mange is a skin disease that affects dogs, caused by a mite called Demodex canis. To diagnose it, it is essential to perform a clinical and microscopic analysis, which includes taking skin samples and observing the mites under a microscope. Treatment involves the use of miticidal agents, such as Amitraz, ivermectin, milbemycin, moxidectin or doramectin, and is often combined with topical antibacterial therapy in case of secondary infection.
