Abstract

Background: Rabies is a recognized and feared disease throughout history, which contributes to all continents except Antarctica and Oceania, however in the economically lowest countries these public health problems continue. Methods: the method used was documentary, bibliographic from the scielo, latindex, and scopus databases. Results: it has been seen that with each decade the cases have decreased and in recent years people have become aware of the vaccination control of their animals since they are also of great support at home. Conclusion: Pets must be provided with affection and care to ensure proper well-being, since they have become beings that promote physical and mental health in human beings.
